About Richard Hall
Attorney & Founder Of BottomLine Lawyers
Richard is the founder of BottomLine Lawyers PC. He has a unique breadth of experience, enabling him to meld technology, sophisticated legal analysis, “outside the box” strategies, and a collaborative style to create innovative solutions with his clients. Richard attended law school at the University of La Verne and was admitted to the California Bar in 1988 and the Federal Bar in 1989. Many lawyers come to the law without any practical business experience, and few come with significant management experience. Through serendipity rather than design, he is an exception. His prior business experience afforded him a fast track to complex civil trials and the opportunity to work closely with business clients.
Richard also founded three legal information companies to help public and private entities manage the “business end” of law. Melding technology and sophisticated statistical analysis, he produced a technology-driven analytical model of law practice. In 1994, he invented linguistic modeling software which automatically applied budget codes, performed GAAP accrual financial reporting, and conducted compliance analysis.
Richard is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker and has performed feasibility analysis of investment projects, including historic preservation district-qualified buildings. He’s also directed the acquisition and syndication of commercial properties. Richard also managed multi-tiered Map Act land splits. He was an early member of the Exchangor’s Club, specializing in 1031 tax-deferred transactions.
Richard has litigated various issues in State and Federal Courts throughout California, including the Court of Appeal. He is admitted to all California Courts, Federal Courts in the Eastern, Northern, and Central District of California, and the US Tax Court. He is also certified by the General Counsel’s office of the US Veteran’s Administration to represent veterans in disability claims and appeals.
Richard performs pro bono services for several Northern California judicial districts, is a Past President of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, a former Board member of the Downtown Business Association, and a member of Rotary Club of Auburn, Placer County Bar Association, Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). He has also served as California Director for a nationwide bar review and as a lecturer focused on Professional Responsibility.
Before attending law school, Richard was an executive in the photographic and real estate industries, and he conducted performance and budget analysis for the US Government’s Amraam missile project. Richard has also served his country and is a United States Air Force veteran.
I can’t recommend Richard and his staff enough. They are professional and reasonably priced. They even worked with me to allow me to make payments on my fees. Great team to work with! Honest, trust-worthy and have been great about following up with me. I was surprised to see three negative reviews here. I had an amazing experience.
